Be in the present

As I recently spent two weeks in Fiji I was hit with a whole truth of "Sanga, na langa". This in the Fijian language (which yes is a language that most people do not know about because it is not yet recognized) means "No worries", in a sense you can say it's equivalent to "Hakuna matata".

I have been faced with a unique feeling of living in the moment for every moment it is. I have not worried about the future or questioned the past. I have just been living in the present, enjoy all that I have been given.

So...

After waking up this morning I am ready to start a challenge. When I heard my sister walk to the living room to watch TV, and I unlocked my phone to scroll the internet pages of Facebook, I realized I need something to change. I need to be in the present, not in the media. I have challenged my sister to go the month of August without television and instead read a book.

Now staying off Facebook is hard for me because I connect with people on there that I don't have access to any other way. I don't know that I will do a Facebook fast, but I will limit my access to only twice a week. I want to be intentional about my conversations, what I spend my time in and how I live my life.

So without further ado, here is the start of Easton's August book challenge!

Book chosen: Mere Christianity.
