Thankfulness oh where are you? Day 24

Sometimes I complain. Okay sometimes I complain a lot. But sometimes I'm positive! So today I'm going to turn my complaint into a positive comment!

I am thankful that my hips merely hurt and that at a young age I don't have any major physical difficulties. I could be worse off then I am.

Thankfulness oh where are you? Day 23

I'm love to eat food. I love good company. I love me some chicken and green vegitables. I love going to my aunt and uncles house to hang out, talk and just eat some good food.

Today I'm thankful I have family that enjoy my company and always feed me well.

So far the things I have been thankful for I think both make send and don't. Leave it to me to say things that are random.

As I sit up at grandmas house I am thankful for my phone. While I sometimes really dislike the technology that is taking over the world, I do love the convenience of it. I've been able to talk to my other grandma on the phone tonight as well as connect with a friend that lives in Kenya (Viber is a wonderful app!).

I'm so thankful for good days. Sometimes I feel like my days are more positive (or productive) then others. While I didn't do much in my day, I did feel like it was a good day. :)

Birthdays! I love birthdays! But I also love my daddy. Today is his birthday and I'm thankful that my daddy was born today. Only 32 years ago. ;p

Today I am reminded of Cory's message where he shared that we need not only be thankful for things and post about them, but we have an opportunity to worship God and to be thankful FOR HIM. Now, I think this goes without saying...and I would like to end my #monthofthankfulness by thanking God for who He is, but tonight I choose to be thankful for worship. Being able to praise my maker, especially with my friends, is something I highly treasure.

I'm thankful for naps. God said to take care of our bodies...and I am a fan of this. I took a nap today. While I would have loved for it to be longer, my sister talking to me via facetime was an okay way to wake up from a nap. ;)

I'm thankful for babies! Today I helped watch the little moppets at my church for the Mom's Of Preschoolers. It was fund to see these little kiddos finally start to understand the flow and that their moms WOULD come back. Our boys like to cry more than our girls. It's cute.

Thankfulness oh where are you? Day~16

Sometimes a good comfy pair of pajamas are what makes the day just right. Because I watch grandma on Sunday night shift I sleep most of my Monday. I enjoy a simple day with a comfy pair of pjs and something about the dam makes it A okay. :) 

I know this might be tacky...but seeing as I'm moving to Nicaragua and will be living in hot weather...sometimes it's the simple things that count.

Tonight I'm thankful for rain. And thunder. And more rain. God is being faithful this winter and is bringing the rain. It is beautiful and I continue to pray for snow in the mountains as it rains down upon the valley. Thank you God for the rain for our wells. Than you for the snow in the mountains. And thank you for your goodness.

What I'm thankful for comes in a mix of different things tonight.

I'm thankful for balloons and streamers. For a loud voice and for friends. I'm thankful for cake and candles. For games and parties. I'm thankful for decorations and food. For fires and gifts. When I'm with good friends I have fun. Tonight my friends and I celebrated Bridgette's birthday and I'm thankful for all things party.

Today I'm thankful for moms & dice. I played bunco with some lovely ladies I have had the pleasure of frowning up watching. These role models are beautiful women inside and out. I thank God I have the opportunity to be a part of fun, laughter and learning.

Today I'm thankful for #work #andmeetings

I guess that Thursday are my days for meetings. I started with meeting my financial mentor then I went to Students International's service center to work with my New Staff mentor. After I finished with her I worked on my flyers with a really sweet friend. All day long I continued to meet with people I found that I am thankful for these people that are in my life. While meetings can make life buys, they also are are helpful. And they meant can spend quality time with people. :)

I am thankful for relationships. Meaningful relationships that I get to share with friends, people that I care about, new friends, and other people that love Students International. God continues to encourage me on this journey and I'm blessed by the people that want to help me.

Tonight I went to a concert with two of my friends. It was the Winter Jam tour and I had soooo much fun! Being able to spend time with these two ladies and worship God was so wonderful. I'm thankful for concerts that bring people together, allow you to worship the Lord and spread the Light of the world to all!

Today we had rain! I love seeing the wet ground and hearing the rain coming down. As I have been praying that our dry land may receive rain, I also am thankful for God's goodness in providing rain for us.

Thankfulness oh where are you? Day~8

Sleep! I'm a big fan of sleep. I tend to require a lot of sleep. Last night I watched grandma on night shift and I was able to catch up on sleep before I went back for my next shift. Because I slept in between I was able to spend more quality time with her.
I am reminded that sleep is also important as we are told to honor out temple. Thank you God for making my body to require rest.

Service is joyful! Friendship is a pleasure. Today I'm thankful for "life worth living" (Steven Curtis Chapman). Going to Mrs. Allen's celebration of life today was a beautiful picture of her life well lived. She had a passion to serve the Lord and a spirited personality.

She is one who would serve selflessly and in honor of her, I not only served at the rescue mission, but I am going to join an R-Group (adult small group) for the remainder of the time I'm here in California.

I'm thankful for Christmas movies. I enjoy watching them with mama. I watch them with grandma when I take care of her too! ...and it's not even Christmas yet!

As I prepare to move to Nicaragua I find that I spend a lot of my time in meetings with people. Today I was able to spend time with a lovely group at Students International's office. We ate wonderful tortilla chicken soup together, worked on fundraising steps as well as the New Staff welcome packet. It was a grand day filled with beautiful company.

Thankfulness oh where are you? Day~4

Movies! I love to watch movies. Right now I'm watching The Astronaut Farmer with my parents. Movies can bring people together. Sometimes people talk in movies (like myself). You can even talk about the movie when it's over! Psh! And some people say you can't talk during movies.
Anyway, I love that God allows us to find pleasure in the little things (not that a movie is little at all).

Spending the day with my mom was wonderful today. We babysat for the MOPS program at our church, went to lunch, shopped for glasses so my mom can see, ate ice cream together, and went shopping at Costco together. When we got home we even ate dinner together. So, today I thank God for quality time.

I enjoy spending time with people. Being home I can spend time with people I know well. But, when I move to Nicaragua I will have the opportunity to get to know new friends and enjoy quality time with them.

Today I sent out my weekly prayer and praise email. These go out to my prayer team as I'm preparing to move to Nicaragua.

I'm thankful for the ability to send an update to those who pray for me regularly.

Thankfulness oh where are you? Day~1

I love this girl so much. This cousin of mine is 25 and she's beautiful! Beth and I have grown up together. We are 9 months apart and 1 mile down the road from each other. She has several disabilities, doesn't talk verbally (although her eyes sure can say a lot sometimes) and she has seizures often. As I have gotten older I have had the pleasure  of watching her from time to time.

I wake up this morning not o lay with an extra hour of sleep, but an extra day to thank Jesus for this girl. I love her to the moon and beyond!
